Hudson Valley Photography
The Last of The Mohicans, The Deerslayer, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow,
they all take place where I choose to live, -The Hudson Valley,
New York. As a photographer I travel the world, but this is home.
I first came here 30 years ago. My mental picture of the valley
was formed by books I read, but the Hudson Valley was nothing like
I imagined - it was even more beautiful!
I
can recall my bewildering variety of photo assignments here without
boast, because the Hudson Valley has some much to offer. Something
not automatically grasped is the scale of the valley and the great
variety of life that goes on here. For books, magazine, ad campaigns,
for authors and art directors, I have shot: mountains, golf, wine
country, historic sites, resorts, fishing, camping, rock climbing,
waterfalls, the arts, farming and of course, the Hudson River itself.
I
believe the scenery is so spectacular, it is an outrageous luxury
to live here. High mountains and valleys great rivers and streams
mix, separate and meet again. With each photo shoot, I find myself
rediscovering why I came here in the first place and will probably
never leave.
